Cryogenic deflashing

Cryogenic deflashing process is performed with special machines in which the product is treated with nitrogen and metal balls.

The purpose of this operation is to separate the pieces from the original printed, eliminating at the same time, large burrs on individual pieces.

The process consists in cooling the manufactured articles, previously inserted in the machine, by injection of nitrogen until temperatures which are previously set depending on the type of compound used. Due to the low temperature reached during the process, which makes the material brittle, and the rotation mechanism that ensures the continued impact with metal balls in the barrel, the junction points and the thin parts are broken, facilitating the detachment of pieces from sprues (channels) and flashes.
